Number 24 in Percival Marshall's Model Engineer Series, this is a small practical handbook on making and using instruments for detecting and measuring electric current, including galvanometers, voltmeters, ammeters and Wheatstone bridges. It gives step-by-step workshop instructions with dimensioned line drawings of brackets, coils and terminal connections. It will suit collectors of early model engineering and electrical ephemera, and anyone interested in how amateurs built their own test equipment in the early twentieth century.

The pamphlet has rust-coloured stains along the spine edge of the front cover, with matching staining on the back cover and on the title page edge. The covers are generally grubby and toned, with rubbing and marks to the edges and corners. There is a faint pencil mark on the front cover, and the title page has a pencilled signature and a purple stamp from Redfern's Opticians, Sheffield. See photos
