Fors Clavigera is John Ruskin's long series of open letters addressed to the working men and labourers of Great Britain, first issued in monthly parts from 1871 to 1884. Wide-ranging and often personal, the letters attack industrial capitalism and the economics of his day, and set out Ruskin's ideas on work, art, education, nature and the moral life, including the founding of his Guild of St George. These four volumes gather all ninety-six letters and will suit readers interested in Ruskin, Victorian social thought and the roots of the Arts and Crafts and early socialist movements.

The four volumes have some marks and wear on the covers and spines, with fraying and small chips at the heads and tails of the spines, pale rubbing marks on the lower spines, and bumped corners. The page edges are browned and foxed, the endpapers are foxed, and a previous owner's printed visiting card is pasted to the front endpaper. See photos
