Yasuhiro Takeda, a long-serving producer and general manager at the anime studio Gainax, recounts how a group of Osaka science-fiction fans went from running conventions and the DAICON events to founding the studio behind Neon Genesis Evangelion. Told in a candid, often humorous voice, it covers the near-disasters, money troubles and lucky breaks along the way, and includes a detailed chronology of the Japanese sci-fi convention scene, General Products and Gainax. A good read for Evangelion fans and anyone interested in the history of anime and Japanese fandom.

The book is in very good condition, with only light wear to the glossy covers and spine, and the edges and corners appear clean and sharp. See photos
