A collection of humorous sketches of Yorkshire life and character by William Cudworth, the Bradford local historian, much of it written in broad West Riding dialect. The pieces portray everyday working people, their homes, habits and speech, and are accompanied by comic line illustrations by the artist signing as "Ant". It will appeal to readers interested in Yorkshire dialect, Victorian Bradford and local social history.
The book has marks, rubbing and soiling on the pictorial boards, with a darkened and worn spine that is chipped at the edges and a small area of surface paper loss on the rear board. The corners and edges are bumped and rubbed, and inside there is a large brown offset stain on an early page, some pencil marks and scattered foxing, with general toning to the pages. See photos
