An edited collection of essays on Yeavering in north Northumberland, a landscape used and revered from prehistory onwards and best known as the Anglian royal centre of Ad Gefrin. The chapters revisit Brian Hope-Taylor's excavations of the 1950s and '60s in the light of later fieldwork and thinking, covering the henge, burials, the great hillfort on Yeavering Bell and the early medieval palace complex, with a section on Hope-Taylor himself. Suited to readers interested in Anglo-Saxon Northumbria, British archaeology, or the history of the Cheviots.
The book has some light marks and wear on the covers and edges, with a couple of small scuffs on the front and back covers, and there is a previous owner's handwritten inscription in ink on the title page. See photos
