Pamphlet

A short local history of the big bands that played in Buxton, written by Anthony Parker and published in 1976, with the Pavilion Gardens as a central venue. It covers visits by well-known British bandleaders and musicians such as Ted Heath, Joe Loss, Geraldo, Humphrey Lyttelton, Ken Mackintosh and Acker Bilk, and is illustrated throughout with black and white photographs. It would suit anyone interested in British dance band and jazz history, or in the social history of Buxton and the Peak District.

The pamphlet has toning and some light marks to the front cover, with browned edges, and the back cover has a noticeable brown stain and some foxing spots; the inside pages shown are clean, with some print show-through from the reverse. See photos
