This collection gathers Emily Dickinson's letters, poems and notes to Susan Huntington Dickinson, her neighbour and sister-in-law, written over some thirty-six years. The editors argue that Susan was central to the poet's emotional and creative life, serving as her closest reader and literary confidante. The result is a livelier, more passionate Dickinson than the familiar image of the Amherst recluse. It will suit readers of Dickinson, nineteenth-century American poetry, literary letters and women's history.
The book has light wear overall, with some slight rubbing to the corners and a few small scuff marks on the back cover, and the front cover has a slight curl. See photos
