Brother Adam, the Benedictine monk who looked after the bees at Buckfast Abbey in Devon for decades and developed the Buckfast strain, sets out the methods used in the abbey's apiaries. The book covers his general principles of hive management and then works through the beekeeping year season by season, from spring inspections and requeening to feeding, supering and heather honey production. A closing section deals with making mead. It will suit practising beekeepers and anyone interested in bee breeding or the history of British apiculture.

The book is in clean condition with a bright dust jacket showing only light shelf wear to the edges, and the title page carries a handwritten inscription in red ink dated December 1994. See photos
