Originally issued by the Pratt & Whitney Company of Hartford, Connecticut, in 1930 to mark its seventieth anniversary, this is the firm's own account of its history from 1860 onwards. It covers the company's growth as a maker of machine tools, gauges and precision measuring equipment, and its part in establishing accurate standards in American manufacturing. It suits readers interested in engineering history, machine tools and the industrial history of the United States. This copy is the 1992 paperback reprint by Lindsay Publications.

The book is in very good condition overall, with a clean spine and clean inside pages; the covers have a slight curl and there are a few faint marks on the back cover. See photos
