We are currently working on our new shop bookshop unit and hoping to be open early -mid summer. We just don’t know which year 🙂 (just kidding we are hoping for 2023)
The new bookshop retail unit has needed a lot of drying out, and also some work to create a dry store room for our Ebay and online stock.
Exciting for book lovers
There will be room for 3-4 times as many books so it will be exciting for any browsers out there. We will be expanding most ranges of books and hopefully offering more bargains, gems and eclectic finds. Hopefully the new bookshop will be an asset to Scarborough’s range of shops.
Planning Submision- Take the shopfront more traditional (like our lovely present unit)
We are looking to hark back to the original style of architecture (shopfront) and bring in a Georgian look similar to our present unit, and more of a tie in with Boyes lovely architecture and Bjorn clogs stunning frontage.
This may take a while due to staff shortages in the planning department, but we hope that they will like our plans for a traditional shopfront.
If this takes too long, we may open the new shop with the old frontage until we can get the plans passed. Fingers crossed that they like the design.
